Very nice location, everything we needed to cook up great meals was in the kitchen. Comfortable beds and wonderful views. Loved it!!
This is hands down the best beach house we've ever stayed at. We vacationed with our family in August (two sets of grandparents, my husband & I, our two baby girls and the family dog) and it couldn't have been more perfect. The house is SO cozy - the blankets in all the rooms are big and plush. There is a big comfy chaise lounge that looks out over the ocean and is the perfect spot to read a book and relax. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking and the pans are in really good condition (not something you would expect from a rental). The floors in the kitchen and bathroom are heated so you never have to wear socks to keep your feet warm. Everyone loved the double heads in the shower and even with a large group we never seemed to run out of hot water (there are two water heaters in the basement). The beach is accessible (although a pretty steep climb) right across the street from the house. My almost two year old daughter LOVED going down and playing in the sand and tide pools, it felt like a private beach. The house is equipped with beach buckets and a kite in the basement that we used on almost every beach outing. All that being said I think our most favorite thing about the house were the ocean/bay views! We are big into people watching so it was really fun to see all the people walking up and down the street and playing out on the sand when the tide is out - we even saw a wedding down on the beach. When the tide comes in you see an abundance of wildlife, you literally have a front seat to nature. We saw everything from Eagles and Pelicans to Sea Lions - it was incredible. Grocery shopping and dining was a treat! If anybody needed anything from the store it’s only a two minute walk - one morning we ran out of orange juice and eggs and it was no big deal to go grab more. All the restaurants and shops in town are just as close. My in-laws watched our baby girls while my husband and I went on a couple of date nights. One night we walked to Ona and the food was incredible (we definitely recommend the Sticky Toffee Pudding for desert!). And for a more casual dinner we went up to the Drift Wood Inn that has live music playing every night of the week and enjoyed a fire roasted pizza. There is also a ton of stuff to do within a ten minute drive. One day my husband treated me to the spa at the Overleaf and the facial I got was dreamy. The next morning we hiked around Cape Perpetua and got the coolest photos, the lookout is unreal. All in all it was an excellent vacation and we will be back as soon as we can make it!
