School’s out, grills are fired up and it’s Fourth of July on the beautiful Central Oregon Coast. From Lincoln City to Florence, there’s a lineup of exciting, family friendly fun celebrating the Red, White & Blue!
Waldport
Festivities kick off a day early on July 3rd with the annual Independence Day Fireworks Show beginning at 10 pm over the Alsea Bay in Waldport.
The next day is Independence Day and there’s no shortage of activities for all ages including the Lincoln County Fair in Newport beginning on the 4th and running through Saturday the 5th, the La De Da Parade in Yachats, and not one but TWO parades in Florence! Everything culminates with fireworks displays after sunset.
Lincoln City
Independence Day in Lincoln City starts at noon at Taft Pavillion (SW 51st St, Lincoln City) in the Taft District with live music all day. At dusk, the Siletz Bay will be lit by a spectacular fireworks show.
Newport
Down Highway 101 in Newport, Fireworks Over the Bay starts at dusk over the Yaquina Bay. Some prime viewing locations include:
- Yaquina Bay Recreation Site
- Under or near either end of the Yaquina Bay Bridge
- SW Bay Blvd.
- Abbey St. Pier
- Various spots along the historic Bayfront
- Rogue Brewery and various spots along OSU Dr. in South Beach.
Yachats
The La De Da Parade jumpstarts the day at noon and travels along Ocean View Dr. between West 7th St. and Beach Ave., or from the State Park lawn at the west end of 2nd St. After sunset above the mouth of the Yachats River, there’ll be an awesome fireworks display!
Florence
Old Fashioned Fourth of July begins with the Porch Parade sponsored by Florence Habitat For Humanity, followed by a Bicycle Parade! The historic Old Town district will be hopping with both watermelon AND pie eating contests, live music (in various locations throughout the day), and other fun activities. Fireworks will light up the sky over the Siuslaw River at the east end of the Port of Siuslaw Campground in Old Town.
